I've updated the code yet again, as well as the installation instructions. For anyone who tried to get this to work previously, I apologize for wasting your time.

I have tested the new instructions on MX19 and MX21 linux distros. Everything seems to work fine with the current instructions.

I realize that the install is difficult, but I haven't had time to package things. It's going to be challenging to say the least.

I want to remind everyone that if you only run this setup in one shell, your changes will not propagate to other shells until you open a new terminal UNLESS you inform all open bash shells (an option). This is by design. You may want different shells to have different colors. Also, if you read the .dircolors script, you will see that you can temporarily override the colors setting and use it in your own shell to set different colors in different shells.
